Dr. Tracy Protti
I have been in the field of psychology for over ten years. My love for bio-psychology stems from my bachelors degree focused in psychology and biology from University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). I continued to study physical and psychological sciences throughout completion of the masters of science in experimental psychology from ULL. Ultimately, I completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Mississippi with a dissertation on emotion regulation in migraine headache disorder.

I continue to operate through the lens of the biopsychosocial model having as I have worked across multiple contexts with various disciplines (e.g., medicine, nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work). A few settings include - community mental health, college campus, residential facility for those with developmental delays, pain clinics, and a multitude of medical clinics within an academic hospital setting (e.g., amputee, spinal cord injury/disease, ALS, TBI, polytrauma, palliative care). Also, for more specified training, I completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pain and rehabilitation psychology. Across these multiple experiences, I have developed expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Based Behavioral Therapies (e.g., Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).

Lastly, an area of expertise within the practice of psychology that I find rewarding is psychological assessment and evaluation. As a child and adult, I have adored puzzles. Assessment, to me, presents as a scientific puzzle. This puzzle allows me the opportunity to meet and engage with individuals seeking care, in which we collaboratively identify and organize the pieces together to ensure appropriate connection to care.
